Accessibility
Updated 23 October 2026. ElementShelf is built to be usable with a keyboard, at phone width, and with reduced motion turned on. This is a description of what the site does, not a WCAG conformance claim.
What you can expect
- A skip link at the start of every page moves focus to the main content.
- The header, footer, theme control, and component previews are reachable by keyboard. Focus is visible.
- The page language is English (
lang="en"). - Form text is at least 16px so a phone browser does not zoom the page when a field is focused.
- Text that sits on a coloured control is chosen for contrast against that colour.
- If your system asks for reduced motion, component previews swap state without a travel animation.
- Theme follows the system, or you can set light or dark in the footer. That choice is stored on this device.
Known limits
Some component previews are dense on a narrow phone. They are meant to stay inside the screen, and a few of them scroll sideways on purpose inside their own frame (a chip row, a tab row, a code sample). The page itself should not scroll sideways.
Previews are interactive demos. A demo that is a picture of a chart is not a data table, so a screen reader gets the caption and the control names, not a spreadsheet of the sample numbers.
